VISIT THE PROJECTS

On the first leg of the Wandering Engineer journey I visited eight incredible projects in Kenya and Tanzania that are using science and technology to improve the lives of thousands of people. Just look at how many different aspects of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths can be found in these exciting projects!

BURN

Designs and manufactures efficient and safe stoves for use in the slums in Africa, saving fuel and lives.

APOPO

Trains rats to detect landmines and tuberculosis to save lives and reduce suffering.

SANERGY

Safely collects human waste and recycles it to create both plant fertiliser and animal food.

AB3D

Solves unique challenges using 3D printing and inspires children to think about how they can use this technology.

OFFGRIDBOX

Uses solar power to generate clean drinking water for isolated communities.

SHOFCO

Delivers safe drinking water to Kenyan slum residents and creates a sustainable and empowering business model.

KWANGU KWAKO

Improves safety and security in the slums by creating an affordable fireproof housing construction method.

MORINGA SCHOOL

Teaches coding skills to kids to ensure they can get competitive jobs.
